LA Angels at Houston
When: 7:10 PM ET, Saturday, August 24, 2019
Where: Minute Maid Park, Houston, Texas

Yuli Gurriel has been riding a two-month hot streak and looks to continue his success on Saturday, when the Houston Astros host the Los Angeles Angels for the middle contest of their three-game set. Gurriel hit a tie-breaking two-run homer in the fifth inning as the Astros won the series opener 5-4.

Gurriel has been hotter than lava since June 23, batting .374 with 21 homers and 59 RBIs during that stretch to improve his season totals to .305, 26 and 91, respectively. Jose Altuve recorded two singles for his eighth multi-hit effort of the month to help Houston increase its lead over Oakland in the American League West to 7 1/2 games. Los Angeles has gone 1-4 on its seven-game trek through Texas, with all four losses coming by one run. Kole Calhoun went 4-for-4 with a homer to extend his career-best blast total to 28, but he couldn't prevent the Angels from losing for the eighth time in their last nine games in Houston.

Peters is making his sixth start of the season and the 17th of his career. The soon-to-be 27-year-old struggled in a no-decision against Texas in his last turn as he allowed five runs - four earned - and seven hits in four-plus innings. Peters, who never has faced Houston, is 1-1 with a 4.56 ERA in four August appearances (three starts).

Miley is unbeaten in his last 11 outings, compiling six wins during that stretch. The 32-year-old defeated Detroit in his last turn as he gave up three runs and a season-high 10 hits over 5 2/3 innings. Miley is 2-0 with a 2.38 ERA in two starts against the Angels this season and 4-0 with a 2.14 ERA in five career starts.
